Here
are 5 steps to presenting your own course for success, a framework for
successfully building momentum:
1. Look for any option. Just because you have
identified a problem does not mean that you are the right person to solve it.
Problem-solving opportunities are always a problem. There are ways you can
help, but you must first look for a solution and it requires hard work.
2. Talk to everyone you know. Speed rises quickly. Include
others early in the process will pay huge dividends later. It's not about
feedback. You can buy feedback, but you can't buy people who think you and your
business are invested. By engaging with friends from the beginning, you build
trust with potential ambassadors.
3. Read everything about the
industry.
People listen to experts. Examine the map. Knowledge gives rise to
self-confidence and confidence builds strongly. You want people to not only be
confident but also convinced that your brand is right for them.
4. Create a lo-fi
prototype.
Develop a prototype that your friends can test. It doesn't have to be high
tech. In fact, the easier it is and the better the chaser, the better. Cheesy
makes a good story. Create a board game or original website populated by stick
figures. Limit yourself to the weekend. At this early stage, you will not need a
developer or load of money. Creating a lo-fi prototype allows you to create
something.
5. Ask yourself why you are here. Do you want to change the
world? Do you want to meet Richard Branson? Do you want to envy your colleagues
and ex-lovers? None of these things will happen. Chances are you'll find
yourself living a modest life in Castawi and Tom Hanks. Are you okay even if we
fail, is the right solution worth it?
